About this job

We are currently looking for a Systems Architect and Engineer to join the team in Delft.

As a System Architect and Engineer, you will be acting as the technical lead within multidisciplinary teams, serving as the guiding technical authority throughout projects. The position demands a strategic mindset capable of bridging expertise in optics, mechanics, and control engineering, while also ensuring conceptual integrity and system-level performance. The primary focus is on the early stages of the project—idea generation, conceptual development, budgeting, and technical decision-making—while maintaining oversight through to delivery. The ability to navigate between in-depth technical dialogue and broader system-level decision-making is essential, particularly when operating under conditions of incomplete information. Additionally, this role includes contributing to the development of project proposals, defining topics for internal research initiatives, and mentoring junior colleagues.
