We are seeking a Software Engineer with a passion for developing cutting-edge software. In this role, you will contribute to improving our software application that monitors the end-to-end operational workflow within the Ground Segment of satellite missions.

Software Engineer

Main responsibilities 


  • Collaborate with the team to design, develop, test, and document high-quality code.
  • Establish and maintain the software build, testing, and documentation infrastructure for mission-critical projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback through code reviews, supporting and mentoring team members when necessary.
  • Effectively communicate solutions, including technical aspects, to customers and stakeholders.

 


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in software development.
  • 5 years of practical experience in software development, preferably in requirements-driven projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Python; additional familiarity with technologies such as Django, Angular and Grafana is considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or similar.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and hardware virtualization (VMs).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Fluent English; knowledge of Italian is preferred.
  • Availability to work on-site at least 2-3 day per week (remote work is possible on the remaining days).

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with aerospace engineering standards (e.g., ECSS) is preferred.
  • Experience with C++, Java, or C# is preferred.
  • A good command of the Italian language is an asset.
