Researcher - Operator (Beamline)

We are currently looking for a Researcher/Operator to join the team in Delft.


Your Role

​​ ​​As a Researcher/Operator, you will work in a multi-disciplinary and scientifically stimulating environment where you will operate predominantly on an EUV Beamline facility which was built to investigate the interaction of materials with EUV, enabling the testing of EUV Optics, masks, pellicles, sensors. With the help of this facility, the potential lifetime of materials exposed to EUV can be improved.

​You will be trained on the job by a team of experts and gradually your responsibilities will grow. From assisting with experiments to performing Beamline facility exposures independently, you can develop into a lead operator of the facility. You will gradually be more involved in defining test plans in collaboration with our scientists and customers. You will also take responsibilities in maintenance and development of the system. 

​If you are keen on working in the semiconductor industry and love experimental research and are looking forward to applying this in a professional, customer-oriented environment this is the job for you. We always cross-train our researchers on additional setups (of which we have multiple). Selection of this secondary responsibility is usually done after starting, given personal preferences and project needs at that time.


Your Profile

The semiconductor Industry is a fast-moving market, which requires constant communication, flexibility and adaptability. This is reflected in our teams: fast-changing project goals demand a high degree of flexibility from team members. Good team-working skills and the ability to operate well during demanding discussions are thus vital for achieving project goals. To be able to fulfil the role of researcher-operator it's important that you recognize yourself in this profile:

• An HBO bachelor degree (Dutch Higher Vocational Education) or equivalent 3 years degree, preferably experimental physics, surface-, plasma- or material physics;

•  At least 3 years of relevant work experience;

• Willing to work in clean room environments part of your time, given that the facility is situated in a clean room;

• Interested or experienced in working with vacuum systems and/or plasma systems;

• Affinity with electrical and mechanical engineering is a pre;

• Affinity with common safety standards in an R&D environment is a pre;

• Working accurately and precise

• Comfortable in a dynamic environment and capable of coping with unforeseen (technical and scientific) challenges

• Eager to learn new things;

• A drive to get things done;

• Excellent in reporting both in in writing and verbally;

• Skilled in the English language, both in writing and verbally;

• A team player and you have good interpersonal skills, which you can apply when interacting with team members and clients.
