For one of our clients within the Defence & high-tech domain in The Hague, we are looking for a Senior Machine Learning / AI Software Engineer with a strong focus on GPU computing and embedded systems. .

In this role, you will work on advanced data processing solutions, where high-performance computing is used to transform complex sensor data (such as radar imagery) into high-quality, actionable outputs. The focus is on deploying machine learning models in offline, embedded environments, where performance, efficiency, and reliability are critical.

You will be part of a highly technical environment, working at the intersection of AI, software engineering, and hardware acceleration, contributing to innovative applications in mission-critical systems.

Senior Machine Learning / AI Software Engineer 

Main responsibilities 


  • Develop and optimise machine learning models for deployment in embedded and offline environments
  • Design and implement high-performance solutions using GPU computing (GPGPU)
  • Process and enhance sensor and radar data into usable outputs
  • Work on embedded GPU platforms, ensuring efficiency and reliability
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across software, hardware, and systems engineering
  • Optimise algorithms for parallel processing and performance
  • Contribute to the integration of AI solutions into real-world applications
  • Support testing, validation, and continuous improvement of models and systems 


Requirements

  • Experience & expertise
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
    • Proven experience in machine learning / AI development
    • Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, C/C++)
    • Experience with GPU computing (CUDA, GPGPU or similar frameworks)
    • Affinity with or experience in embedded systems
    • Background as a Scientific Software Engineer or Electronics Engineer is highly relevant
    • Experience with processing complex data (e.g. images, signals, or sensor data) is a plus
