Lead Engineer - Production Engineering 

Main responsibilities 

As Lead Engineer Production Engineering, you will take ownership of both the direction and execution of production engineering activities.

  • Lead and coordinate projects within Production Engineering, ensuring progress, quality, and alignment with business priorities
  • Drive the resolution of production challenges, focusing on sustainable and structural improvements
  • Introduce and implement new manufacturing methods, tools, and technologies
  • Maintain oversight of ongoing activities, ensuring clear prioritisation and planning
  • Actively contribute to technical problem-solving and project execution (hands-on involvement)
  • Manage, coach, and support the development of a team of Production Engineers
  • Bring structure and standardisation to processes, driving efficiency and consistency
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as R&D, Quality, and Production
  • Communicate progress, risks, and results clearly across the organisation

 


Requirements


Experience & expertise

  • Master’s level working and thinking ability in a technical discipline (e.g. Mechanical Engineering or similar)
  • Proven experience in a production, manufacturing, or engineering environment
  • Strong affinity with process improvement, production optimisation, and technical problem-solving
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with maintaining a broader overview
  • Experience with introducing or improving manufacturing processes and technologies


Leadership & personal profile

  • Experience in leading or coaching engineers, providing direction and supporting development
  • Proactive, structured, and able to set priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Hands-on and action-oriented, comfortable working where theory meets practice
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive improvements and engage others
  • Good command of Dutch and English
