Field Service Engineer 

Main responsibilities  

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field, ensuring systems remain operational
  • Analyse problems methodically and identify root causes, rather than applying quick fixes
  • Communicate clearly with users and stakeholders, providing guidance and support
  • Contribute to the optimisation and improvement of existing systems and processes
  • Support implementation of technical upgrades and innovations
  • Work closely with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex issues
  • Provide clear feedback and documentation on field activities and findings
  • Build strong relationships with end-users by being approachable, reliable, and solution-oriented 


Requirements

  • Basic understanding of IP network topologies
  • Experience or knowledge of troubleshooting and fault finding
  • Familiarity with networking best practices
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits
  • Previous experience in a technical field support or engineering role is preferred
  • Experience within defence, military, or law enforcement environments is a strong advantage

Personal profile

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical approach
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
  • Patient and solution-oriented, able to find common ground with different stakeholders
  • Didactic mindset — able to guide and support users, not just fix issues
  • Proactive and hands-on attitude
  • Fluent in Dutch (required) and comfortable in English
