We are currently looking for a Control Engineer to join the team in Delft.
As a Control Engineer, you will lead the design and optimization of control loops and dynamic systems for high-precision space optical communication products. You will work on both theoretical modeling and hands-on testing to achieve micro-radian pointing control, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the full product lifecycle.

Main responsibilities
- Design and optimize control loops for high-bandwidth (kHz-range) actuators and sensors to achieve precise micro-radian pointing performance.
- Develop control algorithms for pointing, acquisition, and tracking of optical communication systems.
- Collaborate with software engineers to iterate on and implement controller designs into product software.
- Work closely with partners, subcontractors, and suppliers from a control systems and dynamics perspective.
- Contribute to both theoretical and analytical control & dynamics design as well as hardware testing and validation of controllers.
- Engage in multidisciplinary teamwork with optical, mechanical, electrical, systems, and software engineers across companies.
- Provide input for customer proposals, tenders, and subsidy project applications.
- Support the setup of factory processes, tooling, and production facilities from a control systems standpoint.
- Take a proactive approach in identifying where you can add value and contribute to shaping the company’s future.
Requirements
- A degree (HBO or WO) in Systems and Control, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in a comparable control engineering role, ideally in the high-tech industry.
- Strong expertise in high-speed control engineering and mechatronic system design.
- Solid understanding of sensors, actuators, and the physical principles behind them.
- Enthusiastic, flexible, proactive, and persistent in solving challenges.
- Pragmatic and capable of working independently while showing initiative in building the company.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken); Dutch is preferred but not required.
- Ambitious, solution-oriented, and a collaborative team player.
- Entrepreneurial and creative mindset, able to identify and translate technical challenges or new developments into effective solutions.
