We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager – Defence & Security  to join the team in Delft.

We are a growing, innovation-driven organisation, and looking to expand our team operating within the Defence & Security domain, where advanced technologies are translated into real-world operational capabilities.

To support our continued growth, we are looking for a Business Development Manager who can connect technology, stakeholders, and operational needs. In this role, you will work closely with Defence organisations, research partners, and industry stakeholders to identify opportunities and help shape solutions that make a real impact.

You will play a key role in bridging the gap between technical innovation and practical application, helping turn ideas into deployable products and services used in complex and mission-critical environments.

Business Development Manager – Defence & Security 

Main responsibilities 


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Defence stakeholders, research institutions, and industry partners
  • Translate operational needs into concrete opportunities and collaborations
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Defence & Security domain
  • Stay up to date with market trends, emerging technologies, and Defence developments
  • Represent the organisation at events, exhibitions, and industry gatherings
  • Work closely with internal technical teams to shape proposals and solutions
  • Support the development of business cases and value propositions
  • Contribute to turning innovative technologies into practical, field-ready capabilities 


Requirements

Experience & expertise

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level working and thinking ability
  • Relevant experience within the Defence & Security sector or a comparable environment
  • Strong affinity with high-tech systems and innovation
  • Understanding of Defence-related systems or environments (e.g. C4ISR) is a strong advantage
  • Experience in business development, stakeholder management, or similar roles

Personal profile

  • Strong communicator with the ability to engage at different levels
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (both required)
  • Commercial mindset with a focus on identifying opportunities and building partnerships
  • Strong networking skills and willingness to represent the organisation externally
  • Able to translate complex topics into clear and practical solutions
  • Interest in working within the Defence domain, with the ability to obtain security clearance (SECRET level)
