You will contribute to the development of advanced battery solutions such as solid-state batteries and high-voltage lithium/sodium systems, helping to accelerate the global energy transition. The team operates at the intersection of research, engineering, and industrial application, working closely with both academic and industry partners.

In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary environment where experimentation, innovation, and real-world application come together. Your work will directly contribute to making future battery technologies more efficient, scalable, and cost-effective.

Job details

Battery Engineer – Next-Generation Energy Storage 

Main responsibilities 

  • Design and execute experiments to support the development of next-generation battery technologies
  • Develop and optimise manufacturing processes, including innovative approaches such as dry electrode coating
  • Set up, maintain, and improve laboratory equipment and test environments
  • Assemble and test coin cells and multi-layer pouch cells
  • Perform electrochemical, physical, and material analyses (e.g. EDX, cycling, EIS, SEM, XRF)
  • Develop and refine battery formation and conditioning protocols
  • Analyse results and translate findings into practical improvements and insights
  • Present results to internal teams and external partners
  • Contribute to innovation and intellectual property (IP) development



Requirements

Experience & expertise

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. materials science, chemistry, physics, or engineering)
  • At least 2 years of experience in research & development settings in battery technology.
  • Hands-on experience with dry electrode coatingcell assembly, and electrochemical testing of coin and pouch batteries.

  • Proactive and curious mindset, with a strong drive to innovate
  • Hands-on and practical, with the ability to organise and execute experiments independently
  • Analytical and critical thinker, able to translate data into insights
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
  • Fluent in English
