For one of our clients, we are looking for a Battery Engineer to join an innovative team working on next-generation energy storage technologies.
You will contribute to the development of advanced battery solutions such as solid-state batteries and high-voltage lithium/sodium systems, helping to accelerate the global energy transition. The team operates at the intersection of research, engineering, and industrial application, working closely with both academic and industry partners.
In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary environment where experimentation, innovation, and real-world application come together. Your work will directly contribute to making future battery technologies more efficient, scalable, and cost-effective.

Battery Engineer – Next-Generation Energy Storage
Main responsibilities
- Design and execute experiments to support the development of next-generation battery technologies
- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes, including innovative approaches such as dry electrode coating
- Set up, maintain, and improve laboratory equipment and test environments
- Assemble and test coin cells and multi-layer pouch cells
- Perform electrochemical, physical, and material analyses (e.g. cycling, EIS, SEM, XRF)
- Develop and refine battery formation and conditioning protocols
- Analyse results and translate findings into practical improvements and insights
- Present results to internal teams and external partners
- Contribute to innovation and intellectual property (IP) development
Requirements
Experience & expertise
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. materials science, chemistry, physics, or engineering)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in battery R&D or a similar environment
- Hands-on experience with battery cell assembly and testing (coin and/or pouch cells)
- Knowledge of electrochemical testing methods and material analysis techniques
- Experience with or interest in advanced manufacturing processes (e.g. coating technologies)

- Hands-on and practical, with the ability to organise and execute experiments independently
- Analytical and critical thinker, able to translate data into insights
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
- Fluent in English
