Your Role

At Science & Technology, we are looking for a Systems Engineer to join one of our most relevant clients in the Space Industry, working actively with radio astronomy and propelling the development of new technologies in that field.

As a Systems Engineer, you will be working in the Science Data Center, one of our client’s brightest initiatives that aim to expand the scientific impact of their instrumentation portfolio by making available their data products and analysis tools to progressively more scientific teams working within the space exploration. The Science Data Center is being built by a multi-team within a multi-year effort and is managed using the variation of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Your responsibilities are mainly connected with managing the instrument development process, as major upgrades are in the works most of the time. You are the go-person from the proof-of-concept development stage to the implementation of important upgrades.

Among other tasks, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with processes and tools to capture, manage, and evolve requirements on the Science Data Center system

  • Verifying and validating the procedures for requirements, accepting them for the deliverables

  • Developing and updating the Science Data Center System Architecture

  • Integrating systems engineering processes with the Agile workflow

  • Defining and organizing engineering change management processes

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders providing proper control of the interfaces in the internal Science Data Center and between it and external entities

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, mainly in complex and multidisciplinary projects that combined software, firmware, and hardware

  • Consolidated background in engineering, computer science, or natural sciences

  • Flexible and innovative attitude towards tailoring system engineering processes to context

  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering

  • Experience working within software development teams, in which you had to deliver products into operations

  • Experience with Agile and Polarion is a plus 

  • Experience with the stages of the product lifecycle
