Scientific Software Engineer 

Main responsibilities 


  • Work in a team to develop software for high-tech or science applications,
  • Ensure software quality through code reviews
  • Testing and documentation of the software
  • Optimizing data processing by improving algorithms, and IT infrastructure
  • Communication with project partners and/or the customer within the projects

 


Requirements


  • You have completed a higher technical education in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics and you have a proven track record in Software development
  • Between 2 - 5 years of experience with programming
  • You have experience with Python, C++ and/or Java
  • Experience working with Linux
  • You function well in a team (2-5 people) and can communicate effectively and clearly (both verbally and in writing) with customers and your team members
  • Comfortable with writing formal documentation (requirements, design, interfaces, and others)
  • Experience with version management systems/source control (git, SVN), continuous integration (Gitlab, Jenkins), project management tools (Redmine, JIRA), virtualization (VM’s), and containerization (Docker)
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English and Dutch is a preference
  • You are available to work at the office at least 1 day per week (fully-remote not possible)
  • You are authorised to work in the Netherlands
