Scanning Probe Microscopy Researcher
At S[&]T we are specialized in R&D solutions for space, science, and defence. We live and breathe innovation, and are one of the few partners that work together with High Tech organizations in optimizing performance through projects on-site or in-house at S[&]T, operating for more than 20 years in project implementations and product developments where science and technology play an important role, building bridges from technical capabilities through to market-ready solutions.
We are currently looking for a Scanning Probe Microscopy Researcher located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands..
As a Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) Researcher you will perform SPM measurements to provide (parts of) proof of concepts of new and challenging SPM modes and techniques that allow us to comply with current and future customer demands. Your practical experience and skills in developing new modes and extending the possibilities of standard SPM techniques and methods allow you to define, build and operate challenging SPM setups successfully. You will be part of a diverse research and development (R&D) team that brings together skills and expertise from different fields to allow for the development of SPM technology for some of the most demanding applications in the semiconductor industry. Together with application specialists, physics design engineers, mechanical engineers, electronic engineers and software engineers you will analyze and predict customer needs, translate these to system requirements, create conceptual designs and build experimental setups to demonstrate feasibility of new aspects, and realize and experimentally characterize prototypes. As an SPM Researcher, you will be responsible for the execution of SPM experiments and the implementation of ideas from other specialists within an SPM environment. Your skill and experience will allow you to assess the feasibility and difficulty of new design requests, execute alterations to the SPM setup and perform measurements in a timely manner. Moreover, you perform research on the latest developments in the field of SPM to keep up to date with the current state of technology and recognize new opportunities to meet (future) demands of our customers.
