R&D Project Manager

We are currently looking for a R&D Project Manager located in Rotterdam together with our client in the High Tech R&D industry.
As PM R&D you will be responsible for several exciting new technology development projects for future metrology machines within the R&D team. You are responsible for the on time delivery of the project and reporting of time, quality and budget and manage issues and escalations.
You will use your affinity with technology and your excellent communication and planning skills to guide a team of physics design engineers, SPM researchers and system engineers towards results in complex R&D projects. Together you are responsible to deliver the technology required for the Development & Engineering phase, by proof-of-principle and proof-of-concept demonstrators or prototypes.
You manage potential technology and (sub-)system suppliers (requirements & deliverables) in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager. You monitor all escalations for proper priority, reporting, staffing and follow-up.
You will ensure adequate staffing and productive working conditions within the project group, manage workload, set priorities, solve problems, and ensure timely deliveries conform to planning and quality. You will manage and own internal performance metrics. In case there is a lead customer, you will be the project’s interface. In this role you may need to travel for about 25 percent of your time. You will report to the Program Manager R&D.
The R&D Project manager we seek has at least 3 years’ experience in project management, and at least 5 years of experience in the high-tech research, technology development or instrument development area, preferable within the Semiconductor metrology industry.
Furthermore, you need to recognize yourself in the profile as described below. - MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering,
Mechatronics, Physics or Electrical Engineering
with an emphasis on mechatronic systems. - Project Management skills, including excellent
social and communication skills. - Experience in analyzing applicability, accuracy,
and adherence to requirement specifications. - Experience in planning and logistics processes
in an R&D environment. - Experience as a project engineer in a high-tech,
low volume product R&D environment. - Experience as a team lead, project lead or
group lead experience. - Prepared written technical and financial reports
on an independent basis. - Direct experience in delivering systems and
product to customers. - You are customer-oriented and have excellent
problem analysis skills. - Experience working in a multi-disciplinary
engineering environment, with suppliers and co-
developers, to ensure timely realization of
competitive, high precision, complex
components and assemblies.
