We are currently looking for a Thermal/Mechanical Analyst to join the team in Delft.

As a Thermal/Mechanical Analyst, you will work on the conceptual design of high-tech optomechatronic systems, closely collaborating with other specialized teams, such as Optics, Space Systems Engineering, Nano-Instrumentation and Instrument Manufacturing. You will work on systems used in the Space Instrumentation, Semiconductor Equipment and Manufacturing domains.

Thermal/Mechanical Analyst

Main responsibilities 


  • You will help the design team by performing thermal and mechanical analysis and optimalisation studies, working closely with experts in mechanical and optical design, control engineering and system engineering.
  • You will develop working prototypes to demonstrate how technical challenges of customers can be solves.
  • Your input will steer the design towards the best integral solution by considering all involved Physics aspects and a complete 3D design freedom.

 


Requirements


  • Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, with specialization in Finite Elements or Computational Modeling. A few years of experience in a similar field is preferred, especially with (multi-domain) topology optimization.
  • You have an advanced knowledge of relevant FE software such as Ansys or COMSOL.
  • You have advanced knowledge of other simulation tools and/or programming skills (like MATLAB or Python).
  • You have affinity with reporting and documenting.
  • Your English communication skills are excellent, and a good command of the Dutch language is an advantage.
