We are currently looking for a Software Engineer with a proven background in software development to join the team in The Hague​

As a Senior Software Engineer in the AS & DS department, you will work alongside your colleagues to ensure that innovative solutions are successfully implemented in the Defence related field. 

Together with a multidisciplinary project team, you will take our innovative software solutions and turn them into fully functional, production-grade code. This could involve developing software for tasks such as classifying naval vessels or identifying and tracking airborne objects.

Senior Software Engineer 

Main responsibilities 

As a Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of transforming innovative solutions into fully functioning software. You’ll be part of a dynamic team where you'll provide technical leadership, work with cutting-edge technologies, and contribute to projects that make a meaningful impact in military innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate innovative solutions into working software across various projects.
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to a team of professionals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop prototypes and integrate software.
  • Handle sensitive information responsibly, ensuring confidentiality and security.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a proactive approach.
  • Communicate effectively in both Dutch and English, ensuring smooth collaboration.
  • Provide motivation and direction to teams to achieve project goals

 

Requirements                

  • Solid Experience in software development (preferably in multiple languages) and a high standard for code quality. 
  • The ability to develop backend and frontend applications from start to finish, using modern tools and technologies. 
  • Experience with Git, unit testing, and issue tracking
  •  A willingness to continue developing your software skills while also mentoring new colleagues. 
  • An academic background in a relevant technical field. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with multiple modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, C#, TypeScript, Rust) and modern software tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab)
