We are currently looking for a Delft-based Software Engineer for an opportunity within the quantum computing domain.
Your Role
As a Software Engineer, you are responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting software that enables quantum experiments across the labs.
This software includes, but is not limited to:
· Instrument drivers
· Data handling
· Analysis software and graphical user interfaces
You are therefore a generalist, comfortable to take up various tasks at different levels of abstraction. You are able to trade off the needs of the various users and choose for reusable solutions where possible. Software quality and maintainability is important to you.
You are able to interact efficiently with researchers in the quantum domain (Ph.D. candidates and postdocs) and are able to translate their domain-specific needs to the software domain. A background in or affinity with quantum physics/theory is useful.
The projects:
Mature radically new technology with world-changing potential in the quantum field
Develop scalable prototypes of a quantum computer and an inherently safe quantum internet, based on the fundamental laws of quantum mechanics
Your Profile
Requirements
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or similar field
• 4+ years of experience in Software Development, specifically working with Python
• Experience with CI/CD and GitLab
• Experience with Asyncio and Django frameworks
• Acquaintance with Software Design methods and principles
• Understanding of Agile
• Team player, but able to work independently on complex problems
• Focus on software quality, documentation, and maintainability
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
