We are currently looking for a Junior Quantitative Analyst located in The Hague in the Research domain.

Your Role

You will participate in technical-scientific research projects that aim to support Defence in making better decisions. This can be done on many fronts. From the purchase and maintenance of equipment onboard ships to the preparation and execution of military operations. Together with your colleagues, you will analyze qualitative and quantitative data (obtained through self-executed simulation), you devise concepts and algorithms, and you make recommendations that have an impact on the work of military units, policy makers and politicians, both nationally and internationally.

You will be responsible to analyses of qualitative and quantitative data from a simulation model and the development of concepts and algorithms for the purchase and maintenance of equipment onboard ships, but also the preparation and execution of military operations.

Your heart is in technology and innovation. You also prefer to serve a social purpose. Experience or affinity with the domain of defence and security is an advantage. Job requirements:

• A university master's degree in a technical-scientific field, such as (applied) physics, mechanical engineering (in a relevant specialization), or aerospace engineering (in System & Control or Master's Space Mission Design/Space Exploration).

• Demonstrated affinity with and/or experience with setting up and using physical models and simulations. In addition, experience with mathematical optimization issues and static analyses is an advantage.

• Experience with the programming language: C++ or JAVA

• Experience with Matlab and/or Python is an advantage

• Defense Screening possible

• Fluent in Dutch, both written and spoken
