We are currently looking for a Front-End Engineer to join the team in Delft.

We are seeking a Frontend Web Engineer with expertise in modern web frameworks and a knack for building interactive, single-page applications. You will work closely with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to create responsive, maintainable, and user-friendly interfaces. Your work will directly impact the usability and performance of our applications, with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and seamless integration with REST APIs.

You will be working within the Defence & Security business unit, where we are working on innovative solutions that leverage space technologies. You will focus on the domain of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). In this domain we are developing software and hardware solutions for various applications, for example for marine surveillance by detecting dark vessels or for military mission planning by providing input concerning trafficability of certain areas of interest. Common application areas include Defence, Space and Critical Infrastructure.

Front-End Engineer

Main responsibilities 


  • Frontend Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive web applications. Be familiar with frameworks such as Vue.js, React, JavaScript, jQuery, Node.js, Bootstrap, and CSS.
  • API Integration: Consume and interact with REST APIs, handling data in JSON or XML formats.
  • Security & Authentication: Implement and maintain secure authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth2, and other modern standards.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, ensuring ease of deployment and future updates.
  • Agile Collaboration: Work in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
  • UX Enhancement: Utilize libraries for charts, graphs, and animations to create engaging and intuitive user experiences tailored to user needs.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver cohesive, high-quality features.

 


Requirements

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in frontend web development, with a strong portfolio of interactive applications.
  • Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js, React) and libraries (jQuery, Bootstrap).
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript, Node.js, and CSS, with a focus on responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience integrating with REST APIs and handling data in JSON/XML formats.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, including JWT, OAuth2, and secure session management.
  • Familiarity with Python is a plus, especially for scripting or backend collaboration.
  • Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js, Highcharts) and animation frameworks to enhance UX.
  • Agile mindset, with experience working in collaborative, iterative development environments.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and contribute to team discussions.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.  Speaking Dutch is preferred.
  • Affinity with working for Defence. Possibility to obtain security clearances on SECRET level (Dutch, NATO, EU) is a must.
