Commodity Buyer - Aerospace

Main responsibilities 

Drive strategic and operational procurement activities by defining, developing, and executing effective commodity strategies. You’ll lead the supplier account team and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver value, mitigate risk, and build long-term supplier partnerships.  

• Lead the procurement process from strategy development to contract implementation within defined project and company parameters.
• Manage the Supplier Account Team, coordinating cross-functional input and execution.
• Define and implement the commodity strategy, aligning it with business goals and market developments.
• Identify and drive synergy and cost-saving opportunities across Business Units.
• Manage the tendering and supplier selection process, including legal and contractual negotiations.
• Oversee contract management, including spot buys, amendments, waivers, and claims with legal support.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, maintain supplier performance data, and develop strategic suppliers through actionable improvement plans.
• Own the supplier approval process within your commodity.
• Advise the Product Family Manager based on market analysis, benchmarking, and supplier performance insights.
• Provide input into procurement policies and procedures.
• Stay ahead of market trends and take proactive actions in line with developments.
• Define and manage strategic stock levels to secure supply chain continuity 
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (HBO) in a relevant field.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and planning capabilities.
• A proactive and customer-oriented mindset.
• High level of integrity, result orientation, and networking ability.
• Solid expertise in procurement best practices and commodity management.
