VISAN 3.8.0 Release Notes VISAN is a Visualisation and Analysis application that was designed to be a front-end for BEAT, but is general enough to be appropriate for a much wider range of applications. VISAN provides a full Python command line interface that allows you to read and inspect instrument product data via BEAT, manipulate the data, and create advanced 2D Plots and Worldplots. The currently supported platforms are Windows (2000, XP, Vista, 7), Linux, and Mac OS X (10.5 PPC/Intel, 10.6/10.7 Intel). You can find binary installers for these platforms on the BEAT website (see below). There is also a source package available that can be used to build VISAN on any of the supported platforms. Important ========= Before you install this version of VISAN, please uninstall any previous versions you might have. If you do not perform a clean installation, but try to install this version of VISAN over a previous installation, you might experience problems starting VISAN. Highlights ========== This release provides the following main changes to VISAN: * Updated BEAT to version 6.6.0. * There are now a binary installers of VISAN for 64-bit Windows and Linux. * Small bug fixes. For the Linux binary distribution and the general source distribution the file is also included in your downloaded package.
